We went on a field trip with the children today.

We didn't have time to play.

We squished and we squashed in the slushy rain and
we didn't have to use our brain.

We slid and fell and tumbled down.
But nobody wore a frown.

It was fun, fun, fun, all the way,
even though it was a rainy day.

We walked by the river as it meandered by,
and we passed the king sized pig sty.

The sun didn't appear at all.
But it did not make us bawl.

Because the grass was green
and mother nature was a perfect scene.

It's amazing how a twig can be a sword or a wand.
And a catkin can create a special bond.

But tummies started to rumble and it was time to eat...
time to have lunch and a tiny treat.
