Sunday

Woke up in the night because I was cold,

because the thermostat had not been controlled.

However, I'm as warm as toast,

and ready for a roast.

Of course I'm not, I've only just had breakfast, and I have to make that last.

Sunday is a bitter sweet day,

it's when you want to book a holiday.

Sunday morning is for chilling,

because we know what happens tomorrow and I'm not willing...

to get up in the morning in the freezing cold,

and leave my household.

But first, I'm going to enjoy this day,

and tomorrow I will earn my pay.

I'll be popping out for a walk later and stop of for some cake,

by then, I should be wide awake.

I'll do some writing for a while,

before I start that Monday trial.

Then at ten o'clock, I'll feel the pain,

knowing I'll have to go to work again.
