Eurovision
Every year I say I'm not going to watch, and every year I do.
And not just that, I watch it the whole way through.
I sit through the voting, wondering when it will all stop.
Trying my hardest not to have a strop.
I'm waiting for our entry now, we're the penultimate act.
That's a fact.
Lately, past results have not been good for us,
so any marks will be a plus.
But I need to ask, since when has Australia been part of Europe.
Have the people from down under made a detour.
And apparently, if they win, the next contest will not be staged there.
That hardly seems fair.
Next year will we see Africa and and America there too.
If so, may I suggest we call it worldvision,
a multicultural event that is not just for the few.
.............
I must admit though, this year the show has been cool,
there's been some great songs and they all rule.
And this year, our song is up there with the best.
The boys are singing it with zest.
So I'm waving the flag big time.
as it's getting close to half time.
It's voting time now and before I launch into a tirade of abuse,
I think it's time for me to depart,
and declare a Euro truce.
