Here today, gone tomorrow!

Had a great night at the darts presentation and our team got two trophies.
I was really pleased and felt rather proud and rosy.

The trophies were packed neatly in their boxes as we got on the bus.
We managed to travel 3 miles without any fuss.

My hubby said to me, make sure you hold the box on the bottom so it doesn't  fall out.
This is one rule I did not want to flout.

My hubby held one box and I the other.
It didn't seem too much bother.

Then we got off the bus and splat!
His' hold the bottom' rule fell flat.

For, as he alighted from the bus, the trophy he was holding fell through the bottom and splat!
It smashed on the floor and that was that!

Oh dear! I exclaimed, I had two trophies, now I only have one,
and I expected an apology but got none.

Instead, he said, ' It's only a bit of tat.'
And that was that.

I could have made a fuss but I let it go.
Although I really wanted to let rip with gusto.

However, I remained calm and I've decided to wait,
For one day, I'll get my revenge and it will be stalemate.
