Happiness is overrated.

Home is a warm blanket of love.
Its arms cuddle you with a warmth that is real,
and its fibres fit the contours of your body like a glove,
when we remind ourselves that families are the real deal.

We should get up in the morning and welcome in the day,
nobody cares for those who let sadness win through.
If things get us down, we must try to blow the cobwebs away.
For we only live once, and isn't happiness our due.

I can hear you saying, it's all right for you,
and that it's not always possible to be glad.....
and I'd say categorically,' That's true.'
Even I don't practise what I preach, but it's not all bad.

I do use this strategy at least once a week,
and I try to be thankful for as much as I can,
but isn't being optimistic something we all seek?
I'd love to be happy, but sadly, life does not always adhere to life's plan.
